HOW TO TAKE OVER THE GLOBE!

How can people decide where they want to spend their whole life if they only lived in one place? How can they say that it is better than other cities? Living in a familiar and safe environment is easy as you don't have to get to know the place, a new language or the local habits.

But what if the whole purpose of life was actually getting to know what is different from us? Isn't it cool to grow as a person and build a career while you learn a new language and hang out with new people? If you ask exchange students, probably 99% of them will tell you that they would do that all over again. Why? Because it is priceless when excitement takes over fear. When at the end of the year they look back at all the things they have done, learned, experienced and seen. They feel richer than ever, sometimes they feel like there isn't more space for more feelings. There aren't more tears for goodbyes. Their heart is torn apart, but they would do it again. In a heart bit.

Every day I find many opportunities abroad and I feel sad because I can't do them all and it is hard to choose. I don't know which one is more valuable, which one is more meaningful to me, which one will lead me to happiness and success. And then I wonder how it is possible that, among all these opportunities, there are still people who complain about their life but do nothing to change it. The average 20-year-old guy constantly complains about social media, how grey his hometown is, or how he doesn't have a future there.. but there he is, still.
When everything seems to be against you, show everyone that you are stronger and try to pursue your dreams, like the young Italian in this short movie who lost his job and moved to the US to continue living.

Traveling isn't always affordable, I know. But there are many opportunities abroad and I will list some of them so that you will be able to start planning your next adventure and take over the globe!

WORKAWAY PROGRAM.

If you want to volunteer on the other side of the world, meet new people, travel and get to know new cultures, this is a great opportunity. On workaway, you can find thousands of hosts who need your help! In exchange for a few hours of work per day, they provide you food and accommodation. Usually, there is no restriction of time, you can volunteer for a few weeks or even a few months, that depends on your host. I'd suggest finding different hosts around the country you are in, that what you get to explore more. You just need to save up enough money for your airfare, insurance, and your visa, if needed.

ROTARY INTERNATIONAL.

Most of the people know Rotary because of their amazing long-term exchange program. It actually offers even short-term exchanges, camps, RYLA, and New Generation Program. If you are 15-19 years old and apply for a short-term, you will be living with a teenager and his/her family for a fixed period of time and then you will return the favor by hosting that teenager in your hometown. Camps instead are usually two weeks long, meant for students and young adults. There are many camps in many countries offering different activities, such as trekking, hiking, music and so on. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. The format of the event varies from district to district, but commonly takes the form of a seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice. Through the New Generation Program, you can organize your internship abroad, you just need to get in contact with your home district!

AU PAIR PROGRAM.

Through this program you are going to spend months abroad, taking care of kids and getting paid for it! The program provides a host family, which usually pays around 200 dollars per week in exchange for help with their kids. On your time off you will be able to travel and explore your host city.

DISNEYWORLD ORLANDO.

Did you know that you can move to Florida and work in Disneyworld? You can choose between Food & Beverages and Merchandise. In the former, you will most likely work as a waiter which is good because on top of your salary you will also receive tips from clients. In the latter, you will work in a shop so you won't receive tips but your work won't be so heavy. Check Disney's website out for more.

AUSTRALIA: WORK AND HOLIDAY.

If one of your dreams is to explore Australia and you are 30 years old or younger, the Working Holiday Visa is perfect for you! It lasts one year and it gives you the chance to study for maximum 17 hours (usually English courses), to work full time and to have fun. Usually, people settle, study and work in a big city, such as Melbourne or Sydney. Thus prior to leaving Australia, they travel across it.

STUDY IN DENMARK.

If you are attracted by the Scandinavian countries and are European, you may consider Denmark for your studies! There is no tuition or taxes to be paid if you are an EU citizen and some universities offer courses in English. In addition to that, if you work 43 hours per month you can also apply for SU, which is a grant for students. Find the course that suits you at studyindenmark.dk.

WORK AND TRAVEL ARGENTINA.

This is the newest program I found on the internet. I have many friends in South America and since I still don't know what I want to do with my life, I kind of started thinking about a gap year, or maybe just even a semester. I don't want to just travel though, I want it to be either a work or cultural experience, so I simply Googled "Work And Travel Argentina" and surprisingly enough something appeared. There are many programs through which you can work at hostels in exchange for accommodation, you can apply for jobs if your Spanish is good enough, or you can get internships (which unfortunately are unpaid) and a few programs more, like teaching English and so on.

If none of the countries listed above suits you for any reason, try to google "Work And Travel + Country", I am sure that something interesting will come up and you will find whatever you are looking for, whether it's a working or a holiday experience.
